A Miami judge is set to resign Sunday, having served three decades on the state court bench, and during that time she observed several trends, including one she called a substantial impending problem.

“Lawyers are less confident in their jury-trial experience because people just don’t try as many cases as they used to,” Miami-Dade Administrative Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey said in an interview. “That’s been an ongoing trend for years and years, but what the end result we’re seeing is what we’ll call the silvering of the experienced trial bar.”
