With the cry of “sine die” ringing down the curtain on an even more tumultuous session of the Georgia General Assembly than is customary for that often-rambunctious body, the state’s legal community is left to ponder the implications of a number of pieces of legislation that will impact  operations in the areas of criminal and civil law and judicial authority. 

One closely-watched measure was the bipartisan push to eliminate the state’s citizen’s arrest law in the wake of the killing of Ahmaud Arbery last year at the hands of three Brunswick men who claimed to suspect him of robberies in their neighborhood.
