Four lawyers, including a prominent voting rights figure, two law firm attorneys and one prosecutor, were among Georgia’s 16 Democratic presidential electors casting ballots for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on Monday at the state Capitol.

The four lawyer electors—Stacey Abrams, Bob Trammell, Sachin Varghese and Deborah Gonzalez—cast their votes in what is normally a procedural step after the General Election, but it took on more importance this year after President Donald Trump made litigation challenges and other attempts to influence the Electoral College vote. Georgia’s vote, in particular, was closely watched as one of the battleground states that Trump sought to influence.
