King & Spalding, the first large Atlanta-based firm to announce its new partner class for 2021, has promoted 16 lawyers to partner across its 22 offices globally. It’s a lower number than the prior two years of record-sized classes but consistent with promotion numbers in earlier years.

The promotions, effective Jan. 1, were predominantly in its New York and Washington, D.C. offices—with only one newly elected partner, John Anderson, in its Atlanta headquarters. There were four women among the 16 new partners, compared with seven women among the 21 new partners in the 2020 class.
