The Auburn University Board of Trustees voted unanimously Friday to rename the student center for Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Harold Melton.
Melton earned his B.A. at Auburn and was the first person of color elected as the university’s student body president. The newly named Harold D. Melton Student Center is located in the heart of campus, near Jordan-Hare Stadium and Haley Center. The university has 30,000 students.
