The former coordinator for the Troup County Mental Health Court has sued the county, county manager and court services director over claims she was targeted for harassment and ultimately dismissal because of her race and in retaliation for requesting time off to care for her premature baby.

According to the complaint filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Tiffany Hutchinson, a 37-year-old African American woman, started the Mental Health Court “from scratch” in 2012, and consistently received high performance reviews and annual raises.
