Fani Willis, who worked for 16 years as a prosecutor for Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard, beat her former boss Tuesday night in an election in which she garnered 73% of the vote.

Speaking to her supporters in front of her Atlanta home, Willis thanked voters who put their faith in her and “all the elected officials who really had the courage to stand against an elected incumbent and for what was right.”
