The state Judicial Nominating Commission is accepting applicants to fill the seat of Fulton County Superior Court Judge Gail Tusan, who is retiring effective April 30.
Tusan, 62, spent four years as the court’s chief judge until she stepped aside last year to make way for current Chief Judge Robert McBurney.
She was appointed to the court by Gov. Zell Miller in 1995; prior to that, Tusan served as a Fulton County magistrate and State Court judge.
Tusan is a 1981 graduate of the George Washington University School of Law and holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of California at Los Angeles.
Members of the State Bar of Georgia can apply for the vacancy themselves or submit the names of other candidates by April 5.
The names should be sent by mail to the Judicial Nominating Commission, c/o Vincent Russo, 500 14th St., N.W., Atlanta, GA, 30318, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org). Submissions should include contact information for anyone nominated.
