Frank Spinosa, a former TD Bank executive who served as disbarred law firm chairman Scott Rothstein’s most helpful banker in his $1.2 billion Ponzi scheme, wept as he was sentenced Friday to 30 months in federal prison.

Spinosa, 54, a former TD Bank regional vice president, faced up to 20 years on each of six counts before pleading guilty to fraud conspiracy in September. Under the plea deal, he could have received a maximum five-year term.
