Hogan Lovells has opened an office in Sao Paulo, its second office since entering Brazil’s legal market in 2013.
The office will be led by Isabel Costa Carvalho, who joins the firm as a partner resident. She was formerly with Clifford Chance, where she spent more than two decades in the capital markets practice. She recently handled the largest initial public offering in Latin America in the last five years, a $6 billion deal for BB Seguridade Participacoes S.A., the insurance unit of Banco do Brasil S.A.
As in Rio de Janeiro, the Sao Paulo office will operate as a foreign legal consultancy, offering international legal capabilities to domestic and foreign companies and financial institutions.
Co-headquartered in London and Washington, Hogan Lovells has more than 2,500 lawyers in more than 40 offices in the United States, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia.
