A veteran South Florida real estate professional is suing brokerage Douglas Elliman Florida LLC and the firm’s president and CEO to recover compensation she alleges she never received for bringing new business to the firm.
Lisa Whitaker last Tuesday filed a complaint against Miami Beach-based Douglas Elliman Florida and Vanessa Grout, the president and CEO, according to Miami-Dade Circuit Court records. Whitaker, who according to the lawsuit was regional director of sales at the brokerage from March 2011 until being fired in July, has requested a jury trial.
