One major U.S. accounting firm has settled, and another went to trial Monday in a case filed by a Miami Beach foundation claiming fraudulent practices caused it to lose more than $78 million.

While the terms of the agreement between the Batchelor Foundation and Deloitte & Touche remain confidential, foundation attorney Steven Thomas said Monday that the settlement was reached in mid-December,.
