Miami long ago shed its 1980s reputation as a seamy beachside city serving as the backdrop of “Scarface.” Its economy now encompasses a wide variety of legitimate sectors, having recently welcoming new ones like tech and finance. But the maritime industry is one of the city’s classic businesses, and it’s only gotten bigger.

Yacht law specialist Michael Moore arrived in Miami in 1980, just around the time the city’s notoriety was starting to take shape, and since then it has grown from being the playground of the ultra wealthy to the place many of them call home. Moore’s practice has catered to that growth, which allowed him to set up his own boutique that focuses on servicing global yacht customers.
