Florida’s Live Local Act, a law meant to spur affordable housing in Florida, is getting tweaked by the state legislature to the delight of developers, who were concerned about some backlash projects tied to the law received.

Last year, Florida passed the law with the intent of offering incentives to developers who built housing with a portion of some affordable units. Following the announcement of some projects tied to the law, certain communities pushed back against those projects, citing the law’s ability to bypass local zoning laws. In response, the state legislature amended the bill, which is now in the hands of Gov. Ron DeSantis.
