As the U.S. tightens its own antitrust laws, some Latin American countries are following suit, but deal lawyers say there is still plenty of work to be done in the region even with a potential slowdown.

Over the last few years, certain sectors have looked to Latin America for opportunities, including the legal world. The opportunities extend from nearshoring to pharmaceuticals, but political shifts are also causing some flight of capital. Regardless, the flow of deals in Latin America remains steady, even as an uptick in regulations portends some bumps in the road.
