A state appellate court ruled that a Miami attorney is on the hook for thousands of dollars in sanctions.
Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal delivered the news to the Miami-based lawyer, Lawrence Shapiro.
“When the court gets to talking about how in the present case, Shapiro came into the case after the sanctions motion was filed, they don’t have a case to cite as precedent. This is going to become the case,” said Robert Jarvis, an ethics expert.
