The American Association of Jewish Lawyers & Jurists praised Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Zachary James in an open letter for maintaining his judicial demeanor, despite a woman who claimed that she was advised by her attorney that, due to her son being Black and the jurist being Jewish, her son would not receive a fair trial.

“I gave Mr. Klock an opportunity to respond to Ms. Cunningham’s allegations,” James, according to court transcripts, said, referring to Joseph Klock Jr., a partner at Rasco Klock Perez Nieto in Miami.
