What do you think has been the most effective step you’ve taken to increase diversity and inclusion at your firm, and why?

My most effective contribution has been in the area of recruiting and retention. I serve as the co-recruitment partner for the firm and the recruitment partner for my office. In those roles, I have worked to expand our participation in programs that develop and support diverse legal talent and to evaluate and address implicit bias in our recruiting and hiring practices. I also make an effort to connect with, support and mentor our diverse associates and I’ve reached out to partners in other offices and asked them to do the same. Creating an environment that allows our diverse associates to thrive is essential to expanding diversity and inclusion.
