Jean Paul Moreno worked at the Miami office of Cole, Scott & Kissane for less than four months before his termination late last August. According to a lawsuit Moreno’s attorney filed in the Southern District of Florida on Monday, the law firm fired him because he missed 10 days of work during military leave.

The complaint alleges partners Tasha Somarriba and George Hooker told Moreno he was being fired because of deficiencies in his productivity. Moreno would not have been fired but for his military service, the complaint concluded.
