A New Haven woman is suing Lowe’s Home Centers after she allegedly slipped and fell on an ice- and snow-covered sidewalk in front of a Connecticut store and suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Attorneys for Margaret Young filed the five-page complaint in Milford Superior Court last month, but a Lowe’s attorney showed that financial damages will likely exceed the $75,000 threshold needed to move to federal court. The case was subsequently transferred to U.S. District Court in New Haven Monday. The threshold for Superior Court is $15,000.
