The current presidential bashing and exclusion of certain media outlets and members of the press is unprecedented, and a direct threat to our constitutional rights to freedom of the press.

The recent banning of The New York Times and CNN reporters from a White House briefing; the practice of selecting questions from conservative and friendly reporters at White House press conferences; the constant reference to mainstream media’s “fake news”; the hypocrisy of encouraging leaks to the media during the campaign season as long as they were helpful to the candidate, but attacking them when they hurt the president—all are part of a disturbing march towards a dictatorial government with little or no tolerance for criticism.
