Aetna Life Insurance Co. has filed a federal lawsuit seeking to recoup $233,000 in seed money given to a Dallas firm subcontracted to oversee administrative functions of a plan covering city employees in Fort Worth, Texas.

In its six-page lawsuit filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Bridgeport, the Hartford-based insurer claimed it gave human resources consulting firm Pursuit of Excellence Inc. seed money in December 2012 so it “could meet its financial obligations in administering the city plan.”
