In its second opinion this month involving refugees from Syria, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit agreed that the U.S. government didn’t have to disclose the names of certain terrorist organizations that have come up in vetting asylum applicants.

Friday’s decision, written by Judge Richard Posner, was a setback for immigrant advocates who have sought to challenge the government’s classification of certain terrorist groups. In the decision, Posner took a noticeably different stance from an Oct. 3 ruling in which he issued an opinion tossing a ban imposed by Gov. Mike Pence, the Republican vice-presidential candidate, on Syrian refugees entering Indiana.
