Federal Trade Commission et al. v. Cancer Fund of America et al.: Connecticut and all 49 other states have reached a nearly $76 million settlement with two nationwide cancer charities and the man responsible for their operation.

Cancer Fund of America, Cancer Support Services and their leader – James Reynolds, Sr. – have agreed to settle allegations that the charities claimed to help cancer patients, but instead spent the majority of the donations on themselves, friends and families and the professional fundraisers used to solicit the funds.
