The Archdiocese of Hartford has agreed to pay $500,000 to settle sex abuse allegations against a Connecticut priest.

Plaintiff’s attorney Joel Faxon told the Connecticut Post that a settlement was reached after a nun came forward to say she had sent a letter to diocesan authorities in the mid-1980s about the behavior of Rev. Stephen Bzdyra. The suit alleges that Bzdyra beat and sexually abused an altar boy between 1985 and 1990 at St. Francis Church in New Haven and St. Hedwig Church in Naugatuck.
