As general counsel at Norwalk-based Xerox Corp. for nearly a decade, Don Liu has become known not only as a corporate leader but as an attorney who has gone the extra mile to mentor up-and-coming Asian-American lawyers. Now others are helping him with that effort.

A New York bar organization is in its second year of handing out scholarships to Asian-American law students. Last year, the Asian American Bar Association of New York handed out two, $10,000 scholarships as part of the Don H. Liu Scholars Program. This year, the number of scholarships will increase to three and the dollar amount to $15,000.
