Alicia Ray v. Brian Popielasz: Alicia Ray injured her neck, back and knee in a car accident in March 2012. She later sued and late last month recovered nearly $300,000 from a Waterbury jury.

The case, however, is not as cut and dried as it sounds. Before the March 2012 crash, Ray had a series of other mishaps: another car accident, a slip and fall down stairs, and a fall on ice. Then, in May 2012, she got into another car accident in which she hit a guardrail. And so proving that the March 2012 crash was what caused her injuries was no easy task.
