Berchem, Moses & Devlin has merged with the Norwalk firm of Kimmel & Kimmel, and has also added five other lawyers practicing in diverse areas. The addition of seven lawyers brings the Berchem Moses roster to 40 lawyers in offices in Milford and Westport.

“These new lawyers at our firm bring a wide range of experience that will enhance service to our growing statewide client base,” said Robert Berchem, president of the firm. “Our growth has always come through strategic steps aimed at improved service to clients.”

Joining the firm are Eugene Kimmel, as senior counsel and Gregory Kimmel, as senior partner. Their firm, Kimmel & Kimmel, has concentrated on real estate transactions, divorce and family law issues, personal injury matters and criminal law. During a transition period, the father-and-son firm will operate in its Norwalk office before eventually moving o the Berchem Moses Westport office.

The firm is also bolstering its municipal law practice with the addtiion of Peter Gelderman, a Fairfield land use/municipal lawyer, as of counsel; and Ansonia Corporation Counsel John Marini, as an associate.

Others joining the firm as associates are Rebecca Goldberg and Christopher Sugar, in the labor practice, and Lynn Kirshbaum, in the education law department.

Gelderman, who will also be based in the expanded firm’s Westport office, handles business and commercial transactions, commercial and residential real estate transactions, condominium law and civil litigation. He has previously served as an assistant town attorney for Westport and a town attorney for Trumbull.
