Lori Shriver v. Wal-Mart Stores Inc.: A woman who injured her back in an eastern Connecticut Walmart store while sitting on a fitting room bench that collapsed was recently awarded more than $650,000 by a New London Superior Court jury.

Lori Shriver, 58, of Canterbury, was shopping in the Walmart Supercenter store on River Road in Lisbon on July 17, 2006 when she decided to go into a fitting room to try on some clothes, according to her lawyer, Frank J. McCoy Jr., of McCoy & McCoy in Hartford.
