Michelle Pryde v. Lester Silverstone: A Bridgeport single mother, struck by vehicle driven a former city school superintendent, was recently awarded $1.3 million after the jury deliberated for an hour-and-a-half.

Michelle Pryde was crossing Main Street in Bridgeport’s north end just before 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 17, 2001. She was 28 at the time. The impact with a car driven by Lester Silverstone threw her over the hood, and her feet were apparently run over. Silverstone was Bridgeport’s superintendent in the late 1960s. He died in 2004.
