Distinguished dealmaker Emily Oldshue represented Pfizer in over $18 billion in strategic acquisitions in 2022. She broke ground in the M&A space with a bespoke risk allocation around unannounced clinical trial data in Pfizer’s $6.7 billion deal with Arena Pharmaceuticals, and a novel royalty structure devised to bridge a valuation gap in Pfizer’s $11.6 billion deal with Biohaven Pharmaceuticals. Emily’s strength in negotiating and executing complex transactions positioned her to spot a wide-ranging set of issues in the early days of the Biohaven deal. She built a team of more than 100 Ropes attorneys from 10 offices.
