A Connecticut couple has claimed in a complaint filed Wednesday in Connecticut Superior Court in New London that they received negligent representation in the purchase in 2019 of residential property located in Canterbury. The lawsuit was first picked up by Law.com Radar.

Patrick and Kristy Riley of Canterbury assert in their filing that Bristol attorney Stuart R. Norman Jr. represented them and the seller, Linda M. Thoma, in the transfer of 104 Cemetery Rd., including a dwelling, driveway and land abutting a pond. The plaintiffs claim that subsequent to closing the $160,000 transaction, they were informed that the property consists of two lots, one of which was not fully owned by Thoma, according to the complaint.
