The United States government has filed an insurance coverage lawsuit against Progressive Direct Insurance Company and policyholder Jeanette Marie Cuevas in Connecticut District Court, stemming from damages caused to police vehicles during the execution of a felony arrest warrant in June.

Cuevas is the owner of a vehicle that was allegedly used June 8, 2022 by her husband Steven Texidor to slam into two police vehicles. At the time of the incident, Texidor was being sought by a task force consisting of officers from the United States Marshals Service and the Waterbury Police Department when he allegedly attempted to flee, according to the lawsuit.
