A hearing to consider the additional $1.2 billion to $1.7 billion settlement reached with Purdue Pharma and its owners, the Sackler family, together with eight states, including Connecticut and the District of Columbia, is set for Wednesday before Judge Robert D. Drain of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The settlement would enhance the $4.3 billion the Sackler family had already committed to fund Purdue’s plan of reorganization.
