Coming on the heels of the controversial and landmark U.S. Supreme Court labor law ruling in Janus v. American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit has affirmed a lower court ruling against three Connecticut state employees who argued against paying mandatory union dues when they weren’t members of that union.

The ruling from the Second Circuit was good news for the Connecticut union as the court cited Janus, but went in another direction from the conservative-leaning U.S. Supreme Court.
