A criminal trial is underway in Sweden for Olli Tuohimaa, Telia Co.’s former general counsel for Eurasia, and two other former executives on charges of aggravated bribery of a foreign official to gain telecom business in Uzbekistan.

Last fall the Swedish company entered a three-year deferred prosecution agreement with U.S. and Dutch authorities, agreeing to pay nearly a billion dollars to settle charges against it involving violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act in Uzbekistan.
