JBS SA, the world’s leading meat processer caught up in the spreading corruption scandal in Brazil, has named lawyer and professor Marcelo Proenca as global head of compliance.

Proenca will report to the company’s board of directors. The board also hired White & Case partner Daniel Fridman as outside counsel to work with Proenca and help the company “ensure best governance practices,” JBS said in a June 14 statement.
