Just about everyone knows how annoying it can be to get too much information. It’s those irritating cubicle mates chattering all day on their cellphones with their significant other or the group of strangers in the elevator who won’t shut up about their weekend plans.

The world is full of unintentional over-sharers. But in most cases, the sharing is nothing more than irritating. Not so for certain loquacious lawyers and their clients. General counsel should beware of outside counsel who violate their ethical obligations to keep client information confidential by blabbing about it in places where others could easily overhear.
