Guidance Software plans to integrate its evidence collection applications with recently acquired CaseCentral’s online e-discovery software by this summer, and there are also plans to enable other forms of online discovery collaboration, officials said Friday at a conference in Arlington, Va., Guidance Software Federal Summit: A Focus on Data Visibility.

Guidance announced the acquisition Tuesday for approximately $17 million in cash and stock, and potentially $33 million more depending on CaseCentral’s future revenue. But the companies have been partners for several years, and the idea of merging is not new to them.
