Xcel Energy has named Rob Berntsen as executive vice president and chief legal and compliance officer, effective immediately.
Berntsen’s appointment comes as Xcel Energy faces significant legal challenges. The Minneapolis-based company in March acknowledged that its facilities “appeared to have been involved” in igniting the Smokehouse Creek Fire, a massive wildfire that has devastated the Texas Panhandle.
