Lawyers looking for jobs at biotech and pharmaceutical companies have lost a bit of bargaining power amid a softening talent market and a shaky economy. But disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence will continue to drive demand for lawyers with expertise in privacy and regulatory compliance, according to the latest in-house market report from recruiting firm Major, Lindsey & Africa.

Deb Thompson, a partner with Major Lindsey’s life sciences and health care recruiting team, said the market has shifted in recent months as companies have started to pull back on hiring.
