Method Financial, a fintech startup backed by Y Combinator and Andreessen Horowitz, has hired former Capital One assistant general counsel Phil Chang as its first legal chief.

Chang announced his new post on LinkedIn. According to his profile, Chang spent a little over two years as director and assistant general counsel at Capital One, where he advised its legal teams on acquisitions and regulatory matters, helped devise defense strategies against single-plaintiff lawsuits and class actions, and was lead counsel in several lines of business, including inbound card payments and point-of-sale installment lending.
