The nation’s largest nonbank home loan servicer, Mr. Cooper Group, has appointed Merrill Lynch’s Carlos Pelayo to lead its in-house legal team, replacing executive vice president and Chief Legal Officer Eldridge Burns Jr., who departed last year.
Pelayo comes from Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, acquired by Bank of America in 2009, where he spent eight years as managing director of its legal and compliance division.
