Before entering academia, Callahan was senior vice president and general counsel at LinkedIn, where he had global responsibility for legal, regulatory and public policy matters, including corporate governance. Before that, he was executive vice president and chief legal officer at Ten-X and executive vice president and general counsel at Yahoo.

Callahan replaces Neil Sitron, who was the Irvine, California-based company’s first general counsel. Sitron’s departure from the company in September was the beginning of an executive exodus that continued to the start of the year. The executive departures came after the company fell short of its production targets.
