The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association is gearing up for tough regulatory battles by appointing a new general counsel.

Scott Barash is the organization’s new senior vice president and general counsel, replacing longtime NRECA attorney Richard Meyer. Barash is a fixture of the Washington, D.C., in-house counsel scene, having served at District of Columbia Public Schools, the University of the District of Columbia and Universal Service Administrative Co.
