When courting potential corporate clients, law firm lawyers would be wise to follow the way of certain big box wholesale stores and offer free samples in the form of bite-sized legal advice that applies to the work they’re hoping to get.

“It’s like Costco samples—everybody loves the samples and if it’s a good sample you’re probably coming home with a huge box of it,” said Jacqueline Lee, general counsel for the Flynn Restaurant Group, the largest restaurant franchisee in the U.S.
