Representation of minorities and women among in-house legal leaders has not grown quickly enough, many members of the legal profession agree, and a new survey shows that the pandemic did not help matters.

Black general counsel lost three top spots among Fortune 1000 companies last year, while the number of Asian American/Pacific Islander GCs remained constant, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association’s 2021 Fortune 1000 GC Survey found. The survey was released shortly after this week’s Pathways 2021 conference.
