A new Diversity Lab pilot program aims to standardize the diversity requirements that legal departments impose on their outside counsel, while building a stronger framework for these requirements in which in-house leaders can place an emphasis on progress and improvement within their outside firms.

The Move the Needle Fund Diversity Dividends Collective, announced Tuesday, has kicked off with participation from 15 corporate legal departments. They include: Arrow Electronics, Con Edison, Gap Inc., Hillrom, HP Inc., Moffitt Cancer Center, PNC Bank, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Sunrun Inc., SurveyMonkey Inc., U.S. Bank and Xcel Energy. Three others were not named by Diversity Lab.
