COVID-19 created a long list of questions for every general counsel, but for the in-house lawyer at a home health care company, those questions went straight to the core of the business.

Mindy Kursban likes to say that she was born into her role as general counsel for Family & Nursing Care, since her mother founded the company in 1968, and her brother serves as CEO.  Kursban assumed the role as general counsel in 2007, overseeing about two million hours of care for senior citizens in their homes, or rehabilitation centers, memory care units, hospitals or senior living communities in Washington, D.C., and Maryland. She is the only attorney at the company.
