Stephenson Harwood’s associated Singapore firm Virtus Law has hired a new partner from Duane Morris & Selvam.
Colin Jarraw, who was a director at Duane Morris & Selvam, will develop an offshore finance and shipping practice at Virtus. He specializes in advising banks and shipowners on non-contentious shipping matters including the financing and leasing of ships. He also acts for charter parties on shipbuilding contracts and mortgage registrations.
Jarraw joined Duane Morris & Selvam, the Singapore joint law venture between Philadelphia’s Duane Morris and local firm Selvam, in 2011. Prior to that, he was a partner for two years at Singapore’s Navin & Co.
Earlier in his career, Jarraw practiced as an associate at Allen & Gledhill and Joseph Tan Jude Benny in Singapore, as well as Chew Jugah Wan Ullok & Co. and Battenberg & Talma in Malaysia.
Stephenson Harwood entered into a formal association with Virtus in April. According to Virtus’ website, the firm now has six lawyers, including three partners.
